The Administration Team
The Administration team provide a wide range of support services including referrals to hospitals and community service.
The Patient Services Team
Here at The Cambridge Practice, we have a Patient Services Team this includes Medical Call Handlers and Receptionists who are always here to help you, but at times the surgery and telephone lines are very busy.
Please be patient with us as we all try to deal with your requests for appointments, emergencies, results and all other enquiries.
When speaking to our Team you will be asked for information about your condition, so they can effectively signpost you to the correct place – this could be a same day appointment, a pre-booked appointment, a telephone appointment or a pharmacy/other health care provider.
Pharmacy Team at The Cambridge Practice
Our pharmacy team is here to ensure you receive the best care when it comes to your medications. Our team includes clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and medication clerks who work closely together and alongside our GPs and other healthcare professionals to support your health needs.
Clinical Pharmacists
Our clinical pharmacists are experts in managing complex medication-related queries and conducting thorough reviews for long-term conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, and respiratory issues. If you need specialized advice or a review of your medication, you might be offered an appointment with a clinical pharmacist. We offer both in-person and telephone consultations, depending on what suits you best.
Pharmacy Technicians
Pharmacy technicians play a vital role in supporting your care. They are trained through a two-year accredited course, then continue to train and grow their competencies over the course of their careers, working under the guidance of a registered pharmacist. They help manage urgent prescription requests, process discharge summaries, and run clinics focused on managing conditions like high blood pressure and cholesterol. They also keep a close eye on medications that need regular monitoring, ensuring your treatment remains safe and effective.
Medication Clerks
Our medication clerks manage prescription requests, ensuring they are properly screened before being sent to your GP for approval. They also handle emails from patients, carers, and other healthcare providers, helping us manage the large volume of requests that come through our busy practice. Their support ensures your prescriptions are handled smoothly and efficiently, while reducing medicine waste.
